The vehicles are being sold “as-is” and are available for inspection at 147 N 870 West, in the rock parking north of the building with the exception of Lots D and J, which are located at 646 W 600 North. Hurricane City reserves the right to reject winning bids it deems inadequate.  Sealed bids will be accepted at the Hurricane City office, 147 N 870 West in Hurricane, Utah until 2:00 p.m. September 28, 2023, and then publicly opened and read aloud. Each vehicle will be awarded separately to the highest bidder.  If the highest bidder does not tender payment to Hurricane City within 5 business days in the form of cash or cashier check, the vehicle will be awarded to the next highest bidder.

Hurricane City (the “City”), located in Washington County and serving development within the City’s boundaries, intends to contract to update the impact fee facilities plan (IFFP) and impact fee analysis (IFA) related to power services and parks and recreation. The Service Area for this analysis includes the entire municipal boundaries, as identified in the attached map, as well as any future annexation areas. Notice is hereby given pursuant to the requirements of Utah Code Ann. 11-36a-501 and 503. You are hereby invited to provide information for the City to consider in the process of preparing, adopting, and implementing or amending the referenced documents.

Notice of Proposal for an Agricultural Protection Zone:

Notice is hereby given that Hurricane City has received a proposal to create an agricultural protection area on the following parcels:

 H-3-2-3-440             containing 1.00 acres.

H-3-2-3-345            containing 0.47 acres.

The proposal is available for inspection in the office of the Hurricane City Planning Department at 147 N. 870 West, Hurricane, Utah during regular business hours.

Any person who may be affected by the establishment of the proposed agricultural protection area may, within 15 days of the date of this notice, file any written objections to the proposal or a written request to modify the proposal to exclude land from or add land to the proposed protection area.

This proposal has been submitted to the County Advisory Committee and the City Planning Commission for review and recommendations.

The City Council will hold a public hearing August 3, 2023 during their public meeting commencing at 6 p.m. at 147 N. 870 West, Hurricane, Utah to discuss and hear public comment on the proposal, the recommendations of the advisory committee and the planning commission, and any requests for modification of the proposal and any objections to the proposal.

Notice of Petition for Annexation

08/8/2022

A Petition for Annexation (“Petition”) has been filed with Hurricane City (“City”) proposing the annexation of an area to the City.  The Hurricane City Council received notice of certification of the Petition on August 5, 2022.  The area proposed for annexation is located in Washington County, consists of parcel numbers 3398-L-HV & 3398-B-HV, includes approximately 39.22 acres, and is located near the subdivisions of Copper Rock, Grassy Meadows Sky Ranch, and Copper Cliffs.   The complete annexation Petition is available for inspection and copying at the office of the City Recorder, located at 147 North 870 West, Hurricane, UT 84737.

 The City may grant the Petition and annex the area described in the Petition unless, on or before September 5, 2022, a written protest to the annexation Petition is filed with the Washington County Clerk, located at 197 E Tabernacle, St. George, UT 84770, with a copy of the protest being delivered to the City Recorder.

Notice is hereby given that Hurricane City has received a proposal to create an agricultural protection area on the following parcels:

PUBLIC NOTICE OF VACANCY AND APPLICATION PROCESS FOR INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS

Please be advised that a vacancy exists on the Hurricane City Council. The Hurricane City Council will act to fill this vacancy at a meeting to be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, TBD, at the Hurricane City Office, 147 N 870 West, Hurricane, UT.

Anyone interested in being appointed to fill this vacancy shall submit an application, a picture, a resume, and a brief 1-2 page written statement explaining why you are interested, how you are uniquely qualified to serve on the City Council, and any prior involvement in the City or community organizations or activities. In addition, please identify any concerns you have about the city and priority matters you hope to help address. Briefly explain your view on the constitution and the role of local government and your ability to put in the time to properly serve. Submit all documents to Cindy Beteag, Hurricane City Recorder at the same address. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications to be considered to serve on the City Council of Hurricane are as follows:

• Be a citizen of the United States

• Be a registered voter in Hurricane City

• Must be a resident of Hurricane or a resident of a recently annexed area of Hurricane for the previous twelve (12) months

• Not convicted of a felony*

*Utah Code §20A-2-101.5 states: A person convicted of a felony loses the right to hold office until (1) all felony convictions have been expunged, OR (2) ten years have passed since the most recent felony conviction AND the person has paid all court-ordered restitution and fines AND the person has completed probation, been granted parole, or completed the term of incarceration associated with the felony.

Hurricane City is working with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and other agencies on a water efficiency project that is proposed to expand the existing pressurized irrigation system.
