Members

Members consist of nine members, one of whom shall be an elected official from the City Council, one of whom shall be the Water Superintendent, one of whom shall be the Street Superintendent/Public Works Director, and one of whom shall be an appointed member of city staff. The remaining members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. These appointed members serve terms of four, three, two, or one year.

Establishment & Purpose

The Water Board serves as an advisory board to the city council on all issues with respect to the supply and demand of culinary and irrigation water within the city limits.

Specifically, the board shall be responsible for reviewing the city's water supply and distribution system in view of current and projected growth, investigating additional sources of water and the cost of acquisition and development thereof, and making recommendations to the city council with respect to acquisition and development of additional sources of water or water facilities, and review of any other matter relating to the supply of water as may be requested from time to time by the city council.
