About Building Permits
The Building Department is responsible for plan review, issuing building permits, performing building inspections and enforcing City and Building Codes.
Any residential accessory buildings (sheds, detached garages, etc.) requires a permit and must be at least 2 ft., from drip edge of the roof, from property lines and at least 10 ft. from the house.
If you are building in a utility easement you must have a utility easement form signed off by each utility department and must be signed by the property owner and notarized.

Building Inspections
Schedule inspections by calling the Inspection Line listed above. We will do same day inspections. If you want a morning inspection you need to call in before 7:30 a.m. and for an afternoon inspection call before 12:00 p.m.
