Members Meeting Schedule, Agendas & Minutes

Establishment and Purpose

The Historical Preservation Commission was established to identify, preserve, protect, and enhance historic areas and structures lying within the boundaries of the city.

Refer to Hurricane City Code § 10-6-6 for complete information about the Historical Preservation Commission.


Members of the Historical Preservation Commission

Members of the board are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Each member of the board serves a term of not less than two (2) nor more than five (5) years.  Commission members may be reappointed for successive terms.

Meeting Schedule

The Historical Preservation Commission is to meet at least twice a year. Meetings are typically scheduled on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the basement of the Heritage Park Museum, located at 35 West State Street in Hurricane.

Meeting agendas and minutes are posted on the website for one year. Audio recordings of each meeting are available for up to one year by request. A fee is charged for CD's of audio recordings.
