Establishment and Purpose
The Airport Authority Board was established to operate as an advisory board to the City Council. It is responsible for ensuring that the airport is operated in a safe, efficient manner in order to protect the users and residents of the City of Hurricane.

Current Projects
The Airport Authority Board is currently working on the Airport General Plan being developed by Armstrong and Associates. For more information please visit the City Airport page. They are also looking at projects to improve the runway and drainage conditions.
Members of the Airport Board
The board shall consist of at least three, but not more than seven, voting members. The board includes two (2) ex officio members, the airport manager and a member of the City Council responsible for the airport, who shall not be entitled to vote but who shall make recommendations for board membership to the Mayor. Recommended board members are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Board members are appointed to the board for a term of five years.

Airport Board meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM in the City Council Chambers, 147 North 870 West. The public is invited to attend these meetings.
