The Hurricane City Attorney provides legal advice to the Hurricane City Council and various City departments on legal matters which affect the City of Hurricane. The City Attorney also serves as Hurricane City Prosecutor in the Hurricane Justice Court for all infractions, class C misdemeanors and class B misdemeanors arising within the Hurricane City limits.
Fay E. Reber has served as the Hurricane City Attorney for more than 25 years. A native of Hurricane, Mr. Reber spent most of his adolescent and teenage years in LaCenter, Washington before attending and graduating from Brigham Young University (BA 1975) and J. Reuben Clark School of Law (Juris Doctor 1979).
After graduating cum laude from law school, Mr. Reber moved back to Southern Utah with his wife and 3 daughters to accept an associate position with the law firm of Allen, Thompson & Hughes in St. George, Utah, and later became a partner at Thompson, Hughes & Reber. In 1992, Mr. Reber formed Fay E. Reber & Associates and has practiced as a sole practitioner since that time.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Reber has concentrated his areas of practice in municipal and governmental law, and, in addition to the City of Hurricane, has worked for several municipalities and special service districts in the Southern Utah area.
Mr. Reber enjoys all kinds of music and sports, and has completed 24 marathons.
