Peach Days 2015 promises to be another wonderful weekend for old and young alike. This year Peach Days will be held on Sept 4th and 5th.
If you are interested in a having a food, commercial, or homemade sales (craft show) booth – the sign-ups will open on April 1st. This is on a first come first serve basis. Call Kelly Kleinman (619-5387) for food and commercial booths, and Paula Arriola (635-4426 or 862-3787) for homemade sales. No early signups will be taken.
Other ways the community can prepare is to start now with your display item for garden, home arts or fine arts. Plant your garden – start on that craft – or finish the painting! Cash prizes are given for all sweepstake ribbons, and all entries will receive a ribbon. The displays could not exist without your help. The more entries, the better the overall display. Please consider entering this year.
We look forward to seeing you again this year and hope you will get involved in one of the many events that Peach Days has to offer. Watch for future flyers and information, and check out the city web site for updates. We look forward to seeing YOU at Peach Days!
Peach Days, "A Celebration of our Heritage", is once again drawing near! This year's event will be held Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5. Be sure to bring your appetite. Food booths with all your favorite mouth-watering options will be on hand.
Peach Days wouldn't be complete without the rodeo, entertainment, parade, Pioneer Corner, 12K Fun Run, and the Peach Cook-Off. The Hurricane Canal Trek, quilt show, and a wide variety of booths displaying commercial and homemade goods will also be included. The traditional displays, always a staple of the event, will be featured in the Hurricane Elementary building. Plan now to prepare an entry. Categories include home arts, fine arts, garden, and baked or bottled goods.
Community participation is what makes the Peach Days displays a success. Prizes are only awarded to top-placing entries in each division, but all entries are awarded a ribbon and will be truly enjoyed by thousands of event-goers. So, as the summer progresses, watch for a special photo opportunity, finish a painting or afghan, or tend your garden with extra care and plan to share your harvest of talent with us in August.
Plan to be a part of this year's event. This treasured event is a great opportunity for new and old friends to mingle as we celebrate Hurricane's heritage. Watch future postings for schedules and entry details.
Businesses or individuals may place an ad or make a donation in the information booklet.
